Why cant I have > and < in my habbo name? Other people do?

Ive seen other people have > and < in their name, but it doesnt even let me type it in when i choose my new habbos name :s

When the updates happened some characters were removed from being allowed in names, like < > _ The habbo's that have them in their names have had those accounts since before any updates happened
