A new site I made to access youtube at schools etc, which doesn't work like a proxy site would (proxies always get banned anywho)

nope. that would not work at schools etc - it would still be blocked

It downloads to the server, then streams. So in a kind of way it is a proxy, but then it isn't being streamed from YT.

Yep it does use a lot of bandwidth, that's why there's quite a few adverts
