    To download software or buy something which enables me to wirelessly control whats played on my ipod from my computer?

    My speakers are good but connected to the TV, I can connect my ipod to it but is annoying having to get up and change the song, so ye.

    If you jailbreak it you can get a VNC server for it and then connect to it using RealVNC or whatever the free client is called, sorry to not be much help, but it's a push in the right direction

    Jailbreaking the device depends on which firmware version you have on your iPod. It has to be a iPod Touch.

    I'd like to be able to remotely control it from my PC, without jailbreaking.

    I'm on 2.2.1 firmware, on a Vista (soon to be 7) laptop. Both devices are connected to the same wi-fi network.
