    Default iMac?

Im getting one for xmas and Im wondering what are the key stuff on it that makes it superior to the PC, I don't want a pc v mac fanboy fight here.

Thread Closed by Jamesy (Forum Super Moderator): The user wanted feedback on his choice - not an OS war. Thread off topic and full of arguments.

Nothing makes it superior to the PC in any way, all aspects of the PC are superior to the Mac.

From construction of the parts down to manufacturers, to the materials used, everything on a PC is better than a Mac provided you choose the correct parts and don't just go for budget this and budget that.

Gigabyte motherboards are world renowned for their stability and performance, as is Asus. Corsair are world renowned for stability in their RAM and PSUs, as are Cooler Master for their PSUs, Intel are world renowned for their extremely high quality SSD line-up. Seagate, WD and Samsung are world renowned for their high quality HDD line-up and Samsung is of course known for their high quality TVs and monitors.

High quality is just a matter of asking people who know what they're going on about.

I refuse to comment about the software side of things.

UI Design, UI Consistency, Included Software, no bloatware or crapware pre-installed like a lot of OEM machines, the design of the actual products, the simplicity and ease of use to do various tasks, everything 'just works'. I didn't want to use the last bit but I had to, because it's true.

Everything "just works" with Windows 7.

The only reason I would ever purchase a Mac is because they look good. No other reason what so ever. Some of the software that comes pre-installed with mac's are good but you can obviously buy software that is just as good for the PC. Have fun with your mac!

Once you become an experianced Mac user, you consider iLife "bloatware".

Agree, the PC is more compatible with daily life, but the Apple products look good. You can't say the iMac's hardware is better, because it isn't. You can't say the build quality is better, because it depends who builds the PC on the quality. The software, you can get similar software on a PC and on a Mac, therefore both are equal in aspects.

You haven't convinced me that you've ever owned a Mac.
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
