Default Al Gore caught lying (again) about climate change again

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worl...ng--again.html

Green crusader Al Gore was at the centre of a new spin row last night after he was caught out for a second time exaggerating the threat of global warming. In a keynote speech at the Copenhagen talks, the former U.S. vice-president claimed the North Pole could be completely free of ice by the middle of the next decade. He claimed a study showed a ‘75 per cent chance’ that the Arctic could be ice-free in the summer months within five to seven years. However, Dr Wieslaw Maslowski, the study’s author, said his research revealed ‘nothing of the sort’.

Dr Maslowski, of the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in California, said: ‘I would never estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this. It’s unclear how this was arrived at.’ His comments are likely to embarrass Mr Gore, who has been accused of scaremongering.

Two years ago, a High Court judge ruled his Oscarwinning documentary An Inconvenient Truth was ‘alarmist’ and contained nine scientific errors. It's the latest embarrassment for Gore, an outspoken environmental campaigner who has earned millions of pounds from green investments and faced repeated criticism for scaremongering. The court said copies of the film sent to secondary schools should be accompanied with notes to balance Gore's views.
What an utter disgrace, of course none of this is being reported on BBC and so forth, but only scare-mongering speeches by Brown, Gore and the rest of them are given air-time. It comes after Mr Gore is being openly questioned about the supposed billions he's made from climate-change linked companies (so-called green alternatives).

It's all a big myth peddled by governments to not only tax us to the hilt, but also an excuse for nations to give up their sovereignty to organisations such as the European Union (and others on other continents) to 'save us all' from climate change.

I wouldn't go as far as calling it a "big myth". There is scientific evidence supporting that the Earth is actually warming up, the rate at which this is happening is variable and so far it doesn't seem concrete whether it's natural or not.

When the scientists themselves also exaggerate things, who are the governments expected to believe?

Bits of it do seem exaggerated and it may well be completely natural however you'd be turning a blind eye to call it a big myth.

I believe it's too late to do anything but I still go with the flow. Global Warming highlights the need to search for alternative fuels and start recycling, fossil fuels will run out during our lifetime. As well as getting people off the roads which is a good thing considering how congested they are, it's also resulted in more spending on public transport. It's not all bad.

We know that data has been manipulated and the public misinformed about climate change. What are we supposed to believe? Personally I'm taking a neutral stance on this as a whole, but I would never go as far as to say I believe in climate change now.

The 'scientists' all get grants from the government, and strangely seem to come out with the exact results the government wants (as proven earlier on this month when it was discovered by the Russians that scientists in one study group had been fixing the data).

The climate is changing in some places yeah, it always has done. No climate will ever ever stay the same. The point is, I think this whole circus show is a big myth which has been created around something which has always existed and always will do - and they all well damn know it.

The problem is getting reliable data when the data could well be manipulated. The government cannot reject what scientists all around the world say, then they'd be like a religion

It's difficult getting firm evidence on whether humans contribute (or caused it) as a result of this. However I don't blame the governments for this seeing as it is not black and white. History would certainly suggest that climate is forever varying but anyway, the whole thing has definitely prompted some money to go in the right areas (Research into new technologies and Public Transport mainly)

There's more evidence to suggest global warming is natural than it is by cause of man. One fact that alot of people forget, Al Gore included, is that the opposite of an Ice Age generally means warmth and heat, and guess what, we're leaving an Ice Age and we're meeting up with the opposite effects. Also, another factoid is if you melt ice in a glass of water, the glass won't get any taller, so saying all the ice disappearing will raise the sea level x amount is probably inaccurate, as the only ice we should care about is the ice on top of the land and not in the sea, of which there isn't that much.

Al Gore needs a slap. All results should be taken with a pinch of salt, but hey it's hot in the winter. I'm just going to go play in the snow in this obviously warm climate.

i don't know what to believe but it is 100% true that the glaciers and the ice caps are melting.

the glaciers in france and switzerland have been melted away quite substantially and skiing seasons have been cut short more often now.

That happens after every ice age.
