Default John Frusciante has quit the Red Hot Chili Peppers???

I can deal with the Gallaghers having a hissy fit before I ever got to see Oasis, but I'm about to have a mental breakdown now.

The band isn't disbanding (on the contrary, they are just beginning new material after their two year hiatus) but still, it will never be the same with Frusciante.

I am gutted he's left. He is a great guitarist. I'm going to check out some more of his solo stuff, it's quite good!

I find both of those responses pretty surprising! I regard Frusciante as one of the best guitarists on the planet so yeah, he's a pretty big deal for the band, but I'd argue about him being the best thing (or only good thing, as you put it) in the band. I mean, you at least can't deny the glory of the god that is Flea?!

In contrast to this regarding what joshuar said, I really haven't managed to get into his solo stuff. I don't know what it is, maybe it's just his stand alone voice and the fact virtually all his work revolves around drug use and depression. Either way, I'm majorly disappointed and sad to see him leaving. Certainly some pretty big boots to be filled.

Overall, the Facebook group entitled; 'Roll on 2010 because 2009 was crap' is essentially summed up by the fact that not only the King of Pop died, but two of my favourite bands have either disbanded or lost a member before I ever got to see them live :eusa_wall.

Simply because of Michael's death, 2009 has been the single worst year in the history of music, and there will never be a worse year.

Perhaps their new guitarist will help them write songs that don't all sound the same
