    Default Interesting proposal

Gday, this is just a thought i had, not sure what others will think.

My thought was that possibly an hour or so of habbox radio time could be put aside to some form of call in chat show based around the forum.
The host could be a forum member or more experienced dj from the radio site then rather than play music, actually have live discussion on a number of interesting topics based around the forum. For example a call in on the whole forum going down hill, how to fix it idea.

Callin's could be done via Skype then added to the live audio stream being payed through the radio. Obviously quite a bit of promotion may be needed so that more of the former members are listening to the show and there are a few happy to skype in to it all.

I personally would find say, an hour or half hour of this a very interesting thing to listen too.

The main problems involved would be A, getting the technically stuff all working and B making sure the content was appropriate - seeing as callers could be cut off though, whom ever was running the show should be able to stop anything bad as soon as it starts - at least as effectively as the bbc do - and with less outrage if a swear slips though.

What do others think of the concept, i think it would be both interesting and also bring the forum and radio closer together, as despite the attempted linking of the two, they seem, at least to me, as very separate entity's.

Equally shows could be recorded and put up as podcasts without the legal/licensing issues you'd have were music - at least mainstream music, included.

But people who listen to Hxl are between the ages of 11-16 i say most of them would be bored by that type of stuff

There not forced to listen 24 hours a day. This would more be aimed at habbox forum members (many of whom dont normally listen i imagine) - possibly as a one off event, or maybe weekly/monthly occurrence.

The idea would be to keep it light and amusing and get as many big figures to come on it as possible - from well know forumers, or maybe even persuade jin/nvr etc - it would equally be feasible to have to guests on at once in fact so possibly get to ask someone a direct question on the interblag air so to speak :p

The music listening to types get there stuff 24/7, would be nice to have some alternative content for a change, live call in's plus the normal messages and possibly 2 presenters would be sure to keep it entertaining

I'm not sure, I like it but I see Grahams point. It will be interesting to see other points of view in this thread

If problem callers were sorted quickly and the whole thing made secure (I'm not sure if it's possible to intercept Skype calls like real phoneline hackers can do but that might be an issue) then I can see this going well. It would also act as a good way of getting DJ duets going perhaps, for those who get on well and could run an interesting show together

Indeed, assuming people could put a few pc's and component's together, you could theoretically have different hosts each time.

I've given a little though to how to quite easily set up a method by which you could easly add and disconnect callers (useing skype) if abuse happened, or one got hacked (primarily there be a few pc's and each with a 1-1 skype, all being plunked in to a single audio stream before hitting the broadcasting pc - so disconnecting someone would be as easy as yanking a cable out of that laptop and then coming to deal with hanging up/ blocking if needed)

Haveing 2 dj's means you always have 1 free to talk live, while the other fiddles with setting up the callers on the laptops :p

Personally i'd be quite happy to run such a thing with gommeinc as a co-host (since we can both be at the same location) as a trial if there were interest.

sorry, bit of a geek so got a little carried away with the technical aspect of pulling it off.

Basically sums up to, can have many callers at once and can cut them off individuality very quickly if needed.

The multiple laptops bit is basically a way of getting similar functionality to the switchboard real radio shows would use. So we can que up calls if needed etc. That stuffs all irrelevant to anyone not hosting the show though

HabboxLive currently has DJs who host shows together and have chats over skype.

The whole call-in thing is a struggle to get to work. In the years I was at HxL, 2-3 different people had tried it, got all the publicity, and then it's flopped into not working at all - either due to technical difficulties or due to nobody calling in.

All the best to the DJs who do try it. However no one would be let on the radio live if they aren't DJs - which still leads the window open to podcasts which could perhaps work.
