Yeah well i'm pretty much desperate for a job.

I'm 18 and have been casually looking for one for quite some time now, checking websites and the job centre regulary. The problem is, there isnt many that require no experiance and that i have seen advertised. The ones i hjave applied for simply never replied or said no.

So i'm looking for some advice on how to start looking for a job better and improve my chances. I know it's christmas but ideally i'd want to get one a few weeks into january.

I posted in your thread in the education forum, try this website - https://apprenticeshipvacancymatchin...orLanding.aspx

Its for apprenticeships and its really good, often you don't need any experience and they train you and pay you at the same time. Other than that just persevere, right now it takes time. It took me a year and a half after college to find something

Got any family members who work close enough to you who could recommend you to their bosses? My mum works in a restaurant and she got me a job there

doubt you'll get one in any shops for a bit of time. you should have got yourself out there while they were hiring the xmas staff. january is normally bad for sales, so you probs won't get hired then.

looking doesn't help, you need to get right in there and fight for any job. I was previously working in Burger King for over a year. That job was easy to get but then my local pub had jobs going so I applied, 2 months later after constant questioning about the job I got it.

Pfft. I've sent out over 50 CVs since August. No replies or anything. Local shops like NEXT, Argos, Tescos, whatever. Nothing from them.
So now I'm just gonna go self-employed and try out some business start ups.

I worked when I was high school, like 40+ hours a week and now that I'm done school I don't work, my mom just gives me money.

I've never had a job with a boss and set hours, so I have no idea what the real world is like. I've had people who *thought* they were in control but other than that nobody tells me what to do and when to do it.

I don't work now because the real-estate market slowed down and I only have to put in like 10 hours of work per-week and I can do it at home. I was offered a job at A&F a few months back but I declined because I was planning on going to school. I put school off until next year so unless the real-estate market picks up I'm going to hang out until next September. If a job was offered to me and it was a good job, I would take it.

Try looking in the following locations:
    • newspaper
    • wanted posters
    • local chain stores
    • McDonalds
    • friends
    • job websites
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.
