    ... Be able to support a quad core cpu?

    It was on a dual core before it broke, i replaced it and broke my cpu so i bought a quad core im wondering. Will it support it and one more question

    My pc wont turn on (i press button but nothing happens) is this due to my cpu breaking? or my poor rewiring (theres lots of tiny connections

    i forget (cant turn pc to check)

    all i know is the cpu was AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz

    You can check inside, Im not sure but there a certain code or a model written somewhere on the motherboard..

    Probably only the AM2+ socket quad cores.

    Phew, i bought the right one
    AMD Phenom Quad Core 9650, if i google it i see am2+
