    Default iPhone 3GS or Wait?

I currently have the iPhone 3G where its 18 month o2 contract is coming to an end mid Jan. I was going to wait 6 months(ish) until the 4th iPhone comes out and then get that, skipping the 3GS and most likely going on o2s simplicity contract untill then. But I’ve used my 3G allot and have killed that battery life, so I was thinking should I just go for the 3GS, will I really care about the new things in the 4th gen phone? Or should I just use a Portable charger for when I’m out for a while.

    What would you do?
    Thanks

Well if your current iPhone is that bad you should consider getting the 3GS for now, the iPhone 4 will still be in *Fashion* when your contract ends so..theres always going to be something new so..sometimes you just have to make the most of what you have hehe.

    Personally, I'd wait.

I was in the same situation. Although I'm just going to sell my 3GS and buy a 4th gen iPhone when the time comes.

What's the point in waiting? As soon as you buy a phone, a new, better, one is out next month.

I'd wait until the 4th gen one comes out, while the 3G S is better it's not a whole lot different, and you'll be pretty gubbed when the all new 4th gen one comes out and your stuck with your old tinpot one.

get an 18-month contract on the 3GS. The iPhones are released annually in June/July, so an 18-month contract now would expire around the release of the 5th generation. Then you can have the up-to-date flashy phone.

I don't know why everyone says wait because when he gets that new 4th gen iPhone on an 18 month contract he'll be stuck waiting for the 5th gen for another 6 months or something, you can wait and wait as much as you like in the Technology world, but something bigger and better is always right around the corner, so what's the point?
