    Default My Laptop Battery Life...

Hey I got a Compaq Presario CQ60 for Christmas and my parents said the Battery Life for it goes up to 8 hours. Could anyone verify this for me?

The reason is I charged it all last night and I came on it this morning for about an hour and it was low battery again :/ (after 9 hours of charging)

I've looked on websites, I can't find anything related to battery life for this laptop.

It will depend upon what you're doing on it and what power mode it is on. If your only writing a word document on high power saving, it may very well last up to 8 hours.

Personally I have never seen a laptop which lasts 8 hours on battery.

The current power plan is set on 'Balanced'

But yeah I have loads of programmes running after its charged so thats probably why the battery dies so quick.

Charge it to 100%, run the battery out again, charge to 100% a few times and then it should improve.

Remember to take the manufacturers figures with a pinch of salt. My HP says it'll last 2 hours. It lasts about 1hr 45 mins.

If the laptop is old then you may need to buy a replacement. My laptop used to be 4 hours and then it went down to 30 minutes after two years of use. I replaced the battery and it's back to 4 hours

My EEE 1005ha is meant to last 10.5 hours but I only got 7-8 hours out of it, although you should be getting at least 5 hours of battery if they say your mean to be getting 8 hours...

Mine just recently start going like that, but I have no need to unplug mine so I don't really mind. Try what the others have said and buy a new one.
