    Default Dongles

I got a Sweex Dongle last year for an older laptop so I could connect to the internet (it wasn't wireless obv)

I was on msn talking to a friend and she said with dongles you can go on the internet wherever you are if it's installed and plugged into the USB drive.

?? I plugged it in, installed it and nothing seems to be happening.

I was on the motorway and I tried connecting but it wouldn't.

can anyone explain how the thing works? tehe

You need a 3G dongle and appropriate mobile subscription to access the internet anywhere (Well where you can get a mobile signal). A normal wireless dongle is for connecting to wifi networks (You can find public wifi hotspots though).
