Default Buying iPod Touch warranty after it has ran out

My second generation iPod Touch warranty ran out about a month ago and the chrome is starting to discolour and the screen seems to be lifting when pressed in the bottom corner, so I wondered how much it would cost (if able to) for another year, I know its like £38 for a year when you buy it brand new but I don't know if it goes up afterwards.

I'd personally take it back to an Apple store, it shouldn't be doing that after only a years usage?

I doubt they'll do anything, a warranty is a warranty at the end of the day, why would they replace things afterwards? A 1 year warranty is basically saying that it's fit for exactly 1 year and after that it's outlived it's life. Of course you expect it to last longer but that's what warranties are all about it.

I can't see how they'd offer warranties after one's expired seeing as soon as you took out the warranty you'd take it in for a repair.

They will possibly repair it though at an Apple store, at a cost, depending on the problem. I wouldn't be surprised if the screen lifting up at a corner was too big of a cost to repair and they'd just suggest you buy a new one. Take it in and see what they say anyways.

When I brought my ipod touch 2g I got the 2 year warrenty which I paid for. I was told that if after 18months or so I had had no problems with it to smash the screen and take it in for repair - they will simply replace it as its still under warrenty. If you buy the warrenty then I am sure that they will have to oblige and do the work or replace it. I'm sure if you didnt have house insurance for a month when you move, then start it up again and then 2 weeks later they insurance company will say they wont pay out because you've only paid for one month.

Can I purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan anytime?

You can purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan anytime within the one-year limited warranty period. Your eligibility for coverage under the AppleCare Protection Plan starts from your hardware purchase date. Apple strongly recommends that you purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan when you purchase your Apple product to maximize the additional benefits provided under the plan.
Your best bet is to phone AppleCare (0844 209 0611) and see what they have to say, they can normally give you some sort of idea what can get done - or take it into an Apple Store

You can get the apple care plan as long as your device is still under its first year warranty. If its not you can't. Your out of luck unfortunately as your first years warranty has already expired. Try booking an appointment in the genius bar at your local apple store. See what they say there

I don't think you can extend the warranty if it's already expired.
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.
