Default Good old school games [+8 rep]

    Hey everyone,

I'm looking into building an arcade cabinet (it'll be like the minimame cabinet) but I need some good old school games to play. The cabinet will have (haven't decided whether it is 1 or 2 players yet) atleast 1 joystick and 6 buttons per person.

So I will need some suggestions for games, I was thinking of having these emulators: NES, SNES, Neo Geo, MAME, Sega Mega Drive, Turbo Grafx 16 and Atari so a bit of everything really. I may even include GBA roms as well if I want to play those.

P.S, I am serious about this.

    +rep to all ideas.

The biggest problem is "old school" doesn't by any means correlate with "good" There are really only a few that are still fun to play for more than the 5 minutes of nostalgia.

Mario games and Kirby games if you can be bothered can still be fun, there's a version of one of the Marios that's sped up 50% or something like that - my friend bought a load of ancient consoles and games and managed to get hold of that version, and it's more fun because it doesn't plod along so much as a lot of others do. That's for NES/SNES anyway, and get Duck Hunt if you get a gun for it because that can be a laugh.
For the others I only really know Megadrive, for which you will want Micro Machines (hell yeah) and Streets of Rage 2&3. 1 is kinda crap imo and you don't need to know the story of it for the others really. Earthworm Jim can be good as a platformer and comes on a few of the consoles as far as I know, I had it on Megadrive.
