    Default Blue pen

Hmm, today I had a Media exam and I only had a blue pen. So I asked for a black one from an invigilator and she said no (cow) - so when they were collecting them in a different invigilator said "Why did you write in blue, they will refuse to mark this paper"

Will they? lol It's OCR Media at AS if that makes any difference

I doubt they'll refuse to mark it, the reason they want it in black is for photocopying purposes.

Just hope for the best I suppose?

No what they do now is the scan every exam in to mark them and then they send them to the markers instead of doing it by post. Black ink makes it easier to scan so they say write in black ink but blue ink works as well although it's not as easy to scan but it will still scan fine as long as it's relatively dark. My school gave me a black pen to write with so I was lucky.

Yeah, they don't just use black ink to photocopy them, it's because they're scanned and marked online.

lesson of the day: bring a black pen.

Yeah they should do but they say write with black ink just incase because it's easier to pick up. Blue ink should be fine.

If it says on the front that you have to right in black they can refuse to mark it.

My exams used to always say 'use black ink' I think, but I just used whatever.

Both blue and black ink are the standards for most exams in the world. So not a problem at all :]
