    Default JTAC upgrade threat level to "Severe"

    The UK terror threat level is being raised from "substantial" to "severe", Home Secretary Alan Johnson has said. The new alert level means a terrorist attack is considered "highly likely". It had stood at substantial since July.

    This is probably due to the new threats the United Kingdom, United States and any other country is getting to be honest.

    tbh, why has it taken this long to agree that they need to"upgrade" the threat level and their saying;

    "Mr Johnson stressed there was no intelligence to suggest a terrorist attack was imminent."

    when this event happed nearly 30 days ago i think the threat level should of gone up couple days after the failed attacks on Christmas day. I really think theirs more in to this then they care to let on.

    Regardless of this contradiction, I really don't understand this JTAC thing. How the hell can you possibly say how "likely" a terrorist attack is at any given moment? Additionally, I'm surprised the government would publish such information as surely all it can really do is cause panic?

    I still say regardless of what may have happened recently - whether a plane has been flown into a building or a bus blown up or nothing at all - another terrorist could do anything at any time.

    Let me guess, the terrorist attack is going to happen when a training exercise is ongoing, and the training exercise happens to be a simulated version of the actual attack, which will be a huge coincidence. Oh, wait, that was 9/11 and 7/7.
