Coldsores are part of the herpes virus yeah and they never 100% go away no matter what you do apparently, wouldn't count them as a STD though unless you got them from getting with a warty woman or something. Never had one myself to my knowledge but you never know not all of them have obvious symptoms so might have a happy surprise coming my way
