WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?

How do I stop that from happening? Ideally I want my design to not look like a child was drawing it and went outside the lines (it only does it when I feather the marquee).

    Thanks.

Make sure the following is set to ZERO when you have your select tool selected.

    What ?!
Im lost now, what do you want ? Feather on the select tool will always go outside of the selected area/lines, thats the whole idea behind it?

Okokokok, I messed up the wording, uber n00b with Photoshop here.

What I want is to have the corners of the marquee smoothed, but I guess I have to do it with the shape tools now..?

Your zoomed in so much that's why it looks like that, zoom to 100% and it'll be fine.

It honestly doesn't look fine when I zoom out, especially when im copying it onto another canvas.
