Default Ganguro - Your thoughts? [Pics & info]

Ok so this is the basic information on Ganguro fashion

    • Ganguro basically means 'Black faced'

    • It is insipired by the stereotypical beach blonde babes of the calafornian coast

    • It is a japanese fashion with popularity ranging from 1990 - Present

    • Tokyo is the center off Ganguro fashion

    • The more extreme of Ganguro fashion is Yamamba

To give you a idea of what the clothes and makeup look like, here are some pictures, ranging from the more relaxed to the extremes of Ganguro

Personally, I think ganguro and other similar fashions such as Yamamba, Cosplay, Decora, Harajuku etc are very unique and original. I think it's a fun fashion that shouldn't be took too seriously. I give credit to all the people who dress this way because they clearly have lots of confidence and most of us would never dream of dressing this way.

some girls at my college look like this
but they aren't trying to be ganguro girls they just put their make-up on in the dark.

i think it's stupid .... wouldn't wanna wearing all that **** on my face you'd probably end up having to wear it all the time thanks to the acne it's gonna give them. think it's pretty cool for a one night thing but no, i don't think dressing up so you don't look like YOU anymore is confidence...

I know what you're saying, but i'm sure they don't like this 24/7 or atleast take it seriously, and it's bound to give confidence, after all i'm sure you will have plently of people looking and raising their eyebrows at you!

Good for fancy dress, thats about it,

Also cosplay is pretty much fancy dress so i dont think its a fashion trend because people wouldnt wear the clothes on a day to day basis. Just for speciific events or days.
