Someone explain mafias to me

Right basically i was looking through alot of old pics and documents on my old comp and came across a few screenies of old mafias.

What do they benefit from, How do they work and do they actually serve a purpose?

Benefit: Some mafias pay their workers. Some people pay for rights and positions in the mafia. Meaning owner and some players get furni.

How they work: Usually do alot of recruting and sometimes go into another mafias room and start role playing and saying thier mafia sucks.

Do they serve a purpose: Not really, just something for some players to do.

basically wat guy above said.... sorta like the gangs they supposably have, yet better. but have no purpose
