Portal controversy, sequel rumours stirring

So that has something to do with it, but I'm a bit scattered on whats going on. Apparently Valve released a patch which has updated Portal with a new achievement called "Transmission recieved". Nobody knows what it is but in the patch details it had some crazy stuff about regulations and what not, just random blabber.

Now people have looked at the gcfs and had a good dig around the files, tracing it to some cool ASCII images (http://comparescreenshots.slicx.com/comparison/39656). Some more are coming up on that ustream.tv link but like... Alot of rumours are flying around, people are saying Portal 2 is coming and others are like VALVEZ R TROLLIN!

Either way, something bigs gonna come and pretty soon. Anyone been hearing about this? Cuz I'm as in the dark as you lot are really, I got most of this from the Steam users forums.

Valve are the sort of people to do this in preparation for the announcement of something big so I would imagine it will be portal 2.

Valve have to come to the EA conference, as part of their retail agreement.

Ontopic: Portal was the funniest and most perplexing game I have ever played, the writing is one of the best and it's definitely one of Valve's greatest.

More ontopic: If you want to do a major announcement, then look at what Valve do. It's basically hyping up an announcement, which itself will cause more hype.
