Hello guys, didn't really see me posting a problem online but here goes..

Well my wife has been in a depressive state lately as her uncle died a few weeks ago, and I was wondering if I could get some ideas to cheer her up a little cause i'm not really expieranced with all this just its causing problems for our marriage and our little girl looks asif shes been neglected from her own mum.

Well you need to take over the emotional support of your daughter for awhile I would think. Your wife is going through depression which is quite natural for somebody that has lost a close relative. Perhaps you should explain it to your daughter in a way she could understand and be there for your wife. Bereavement usually follows the same pattern. Depression ->Anger -> Acceptance. It is only a temporary thing but if it seems to lasting a very long time then she may need to see a doctor.

Yeah it is very natural for her to be suffering from depression after something like that. I think you need to try and stay strong for your daughter, and your wife. If it is getting really bad, theres always the option of doctors or councillors.

As for cheering her up, you can;t change what's happened, but perhaps a family day out where you daughter can come along as well, something that will be fun for all. That may take her mind of what's happened, and it's something for your daughter as well.

Maybe tell her that it's affecting you, tell her everyone goes through this phase. Try not to make her feel isolated, but give her time to her self as well.

That sounds like a nice idea. I guess if she does throw it in your face you just need to try and take it on the chin and stay cool. If she does, then a few weeks or months down the line she'll probably even turn round and apologise for being the way she was. Also does she know about the counselling booking?
