Forum Updates ~ 21/03/2010

March has been a rather hectic period for Habbox Forum, with the upgrade to vBulletin 4 and three brand new skins so these are actually the first set of traditional forum updates this month!

We have an interesting list of updates here for you this week, two of which I believe are muchly awaited returning features:

• Summary of User Interface Tweaks since the introduction of vB4
• 'Habbo UK News & Rumours' description changed
• Removal of the 'Hobbies' forum
• Arcade Returns ~ Chance for you to choose new games!
• Post-bit style chooser now available.

Also, don't forget, if you are VIP, a Donator or a Staff Member and do not have your userbar showing, PM myself or Garion to sort this ASAP!

Residents of our feedback forum have been keeping our Forum Technician Jamesy busy over the past fortnight, with many suggestions of small tweaks to make to ensure we get the full potential of what is on offer.

Here is just a brief summary of some of the more important tweaks:

New Signature Warning

In an attempt to help you avoid breaching forum signature rules, we have added a little warning to the Edit Signature page to remind you of the regulations.

New Inter-Site Navigation!

In an attempt to promote the various areas of Habbox we have made full use of the navigation bar on the new vBulletin 4.0 interface. We have added links to Habbox.com, Habboxlive.com and Habbox Competitions to the navigation at the top of the forum.

Quick Links & Forum Actions menus expanded
When we changed over to vB4 the "Quick Links" and "Forum Actions" bars contained a mere 3 things each, in comparison to the former Quick Links which had about 15 options within it. Therefore we've done our best to incorporate all of the old Quick Link options into the two new Quick Link & Forum Actions dropdowns and we have this as a result:



If you have any more suggestions for things we could add to Quick Links or Forum Actions then drop myself & Garion a Private Message and we will see what we can do!

Old Smilies Return!

Unfortunately, after the update we lost our old, beloved default smilies and they were replaced with:



Following discussion amongst management it was decided to re-install our traditional Habbox Forum smilies:

Watch this space though, as new smilies are certainly a possibility for the future!

Updates to the Non-Habbo Skins

Following the release of our Non-Habbo Light and Non-Habbo Dark (v2) feedback user kk. made a couple of suggestions which were recieved well in the feedback forum.

He created the banners for the two Non-Habbo Skins and suggested tweaks to the headers which resulted in:

In an attempt to plug the Habbox News Department, we have changed the description of the 'Habbo UK News & Rumours' forum to:

Talk about the latest news and rumours on Habbo.co.uk.

This should enable our Habbo audience to read the most up to date news written by Bolt660 and his team!

We have decided to remove the 'Hobbies' forum as it had become rather inactive. Users willing to post about their hobbies may utilise the Discuss Anything forums or if the hobby is sport-related, the Sports forums.

The Habbox Forum Arcade is back!

You will be pleased to know that all old highscores have been wiped clean! (well those who held those high scores may not be pleased to know that, sorry nvrspk4, Trinity, FlyingJesus and other former high scorers)

Please note that this re-launch of the arcade only contains the games which were on the arcade before we upgraded to vBulletin 4.0. We are planning to introduce around 15 new games to the arcade over the Easter period and what's more exciting is that all of those 15 games will be chosen by you!

Click here, scroll down to Thread Display Options then Post Style then choose your preferred option.
