Default How the heck do I update the mapping on my nav?

We've got a Garmin Nuvi 310D satnav, and we can't work out how to update the mapping for it.

    Ideas?

It costs something bizarre like $300 to update the maps on my dad's F150 lariat. Are you sure updating the mapping on your GPS is free?

Well, we've managed to update it using software with no charge, god knows how, but we can now load the Europe maps onto it too.

    https://my.garmin.com/maps/chooseDeviceType.htm?

I read the manual for you

Probably a damn site cheaper than it is to get the map updates we have to get from Audi (which by the way, are crap.)

Yeah, same it's close to $200 for the 2010 disc for my Honda. Ford wants a bunch of money for the "7P" disk for our Explorer Limited.. it's not worth it so the disc that's in it works just fine and it's always been able to find directions.

We used to have a 2000 Mercedes with a CD-BASED Command system. When we would drive to Canada certain points during the journey we would have to stop the car, get out, pop the truck and change the CD so we could keep on our way! It's amazing how a book of CD's is replaced with something as small as an SD card..
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.

Yeah, it's all SD cards now. My dad's 407 SW uses an SD card for mapping (we had the little nav before we had the 407, and we use it in the other car, LOL)

We updated it, and it has more of a penchant for country roads than ever
