Default Dennis Ealam: UKs oldest-known new father

A great grandfather who recently recovered from brain surgery has become Britain's oldest-known new father at the age of 76.

Dennis Ealam came forward to claim the title from 74-year-old Gerry Burks, who flirted briefly with it after the Daily Mail told his story on Tuesday.

Mr Ealam's 36-year-old wife Cora gave birth to daughter Jessie on December 11 last year, two months after her husband turned 76.

'He's a great father': Dennis Ealam, 76, with daughter Jessie.

The pair already have a one-year-old son, Johnathan, who was born days after Mr Ealam had an operation to remove a brain tumour.
Mr Ealam said Mr Burks, whose 41-year-old wife Dawn gave birth to son Ryan two weeks ago, was a mere 'whipper-snapper'.

Statistics show that'll he'll probably be dead before the child reaches 10. I can't really say I'm happy for him, just sympathetic towards the children. It's also worrying how similar the child looks to the mother, poor thing.

You know a father can die when he is young - it's just the luck of the draw. I know this. The mother seems young and as long as they are both good and caring parents then that's all that matters. Better than having two parents who are young and don't care.

Wow what ugly people, I can now understand why she'd have sex with an OAP. Stupid tbh.

EDIT: Does the guy have a lump on his left side from his operation?

I think porky has taken a bite out of him while dreaming about breakfast.

What a selfish old fool who will get the child a life of ridicule over being taken school by grandad (if he lasts that long) I never read the full story but I am hoping he has plenty of savings or has a good enough pension to support the child without being a burden on the tax payer and no comment on the chip shifter. If he drops dead soon I hope the woman who looks like shes worked extremely hard in her life gets off her backside and earns her keep.
