    Default Catteries and Kennels

I'm just not cut out for all these sales executive jobs and the like. I really want to work with animals but the thing is I have no experience other than being a pet owner myself. I've looked around and found a few part time job ads that didn't specify any experience or training, but I'm looking to work full time. Is it right to assume experience and/or training is required to work full time at a cattery or kennel? If so, where do I start? Are there specific training courses or would volunteer work suffice as experience? I'll rep anyone who is able to help.

I would say you could volunteer at your local animal rescue centres to gain some experience but the part time work would help you towards the full time work too.

Could be - lots of companies do this now to 'test' people out. =]

i love working with kids, doing courses back in year 11 and stuff really inspired me to work with them and now i work in a play centre. it's nothing spectacular but it's part time (full time in holidays, been working 9 hours every day in 13 days of Easter).

so yeah, take the part time into account and go for it, it may very well lead into a full time job, depending on how well you are with pets :]
