Well most tablets that are coming out soon seem to be much better then the iPad in both feature and hardware wise. Such as the HP Slate and that other one Jewish Bear mentioned which runs Android. I also believe Google are coming to the tablet market sometime this year and they announced today that it wouldn't be the chrome OS, so meaning it will most likely run the Android OS.
If they are calling it the "WePad", I wonder if Apple will sue them lmao.
What is it with tech companies and incontinence pads lately? :S
Well this isn't an iPad killer, that's like saying my HP laptop is a Creative Zen killer - two different things. This tablet PC can stand on its two feet, unlike the fruit![]()

Has anyone even heard of this German company before?![]()
I'd be interested in a tablet device, perhaps this WePad would be interesting. However an Android device or the Slate would interest me more.

Strangely no...Europe and computers aren't usually things you hear about come to think of it :S
EDIT: European computer companies that is. Usually they/we (depending on your viewpoint) just ship in from Japan or American, or get those companies to set up a country branch/sectorsIt'll be interesting to see what they do.

What's the point in tablets? Why not just get a laptop I'm sure it's much easier to use and is much more powerful? :L
because Tablets are cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolerrrrr. lol
Anyway, I wonder if it's resistive or capacitive, i.e. if it'll need a pen or not.
I think much of the iPad's appeal is it's just quick and simple to use; needing a pen might make it less so.
If this is as scratchproof as the iPad or lighter or light as the iPad, I want one. Now. I wouldn't be surprised if Google or Microsoft approached them about getting their software on the thing, just to have a go at the iPad. More likely Google with the ChromeOS.
Chrome OS won't be coming soon. Google confirmed their tablet won't be running it. Maybe sometime in the future?
Gizmodo is reporting a New York Times article that's got some juicy tablet gossip for all you iPad crazed folk. Google CEO, Eric Schmidt, is said to have spilled the beans on Google's rumored tablet device. Interestingly, the device will not run Chrome OS, as previously thought. Schmidt told some friends of his that the tablet will run the Android operating system.
It's unclear why Android will be the OS used. Previously leaked video and images show Google's concept device running Chrome OS. It's possible that the new web based OS is not yet ready for public consumption, leaving Android as the sole option if Google plans to make it to market this year.
Another reason for using Android could be the need to compete with the iPad. Since Apple has tied their tablet device into their lucrative App Store, Google has no choice but to fight fire with fire. The Android Market is the only application store that comes anywhere near the App Store. If Google wants any chance of launching a successful tablet, they'll need to capitalize on the success of Android. Keep in mind, this is all conjecture. At this point, no one that knows actual details of the Google tablet are talking.
It is said that the tablet project has been going on behind closed doors with very little third party involvement. However, it does seem that books, magazines, and other media will be available for the device at launch. No timetable has been leaked.
