It's been a couple of weeks since we last posted Updates but we would never go quiet for too long! This week, we're back with a couple of updates in an attempt to make the forum run a little smoother.

Just me to put up with this week, Garion is extremely busy slaving away to get his work done before he goes back to college tomorrow, shouldn't have left it until last minute! I'm sure you're all the same

Anyway let's get down to business and see what updates we have this week apart from our new banner, all credit going to the Graphics Department.

This weeks updates are:

• Signature File Size Limit now in place
• New Jokes Forum
• An addition to the "User ranks" section of the FAQ
• "Forum Specific Rules" section of the FAQ updated

A couple of weeks ago now a thread was posted in feedback by FlyingJesus regarding the file sizes of the images posted in signatures, particularly large gifs. People generally agreed that a limit should be imposed and that is what we have done!

As of now, users are permitted to have a maximum of 1.5mB (1500kB approx) of images in their signatures.
This means that all the images in your signature, must add up to less than 1.5mB and also comply with pixel size restrictions.

This will be moderated in the same manner as pixel size restrictions, where you will be contacted by a moderator if your signature is over the limit and asked to remove it. Failure to do so will result in further action.

To check your file size, simply view the properties of your document.

This restriction has been added to rule B2 and the signature/avatar section of the FAQ.

Following a feedback thread posted by Richie we have decided to make some alterations to the Jokes forum.

Well, I say alterations, we've made a new one. The reasoning behind this is that the majority of replies to jokes are simply going to be along the lines of "hahah" "lol" "LMAO" etc, therefore we have decided to turn off the post count in the new forum.

Please note, just because post-count does not apply, all forum rules still apply within this forum, with more lenience being placed on the 'Pointless Posting' rule to allow more simple replies.

We have archived the old jokes in public for you (so your post count has not been affected), old jokes can be found here

Following the implementation of Public Groups at the start of the month we have added information to which user ranks can create groups to the user rank section of the FAQ.

Once upon a time, a long time ago the Forum Specific Rules section of the FAQ was created.

Now, in the modern age of 2010 we have finally spruced it up and made sure all the links work!
