Default Recommend me some Blu-Ray titles?

I decided to take the plunge and buy a Samsung Blu-Ray player and a good HDMI cable for my HD ready Samsung TV and I am looking for some Blu-Ray titles. I rented 2012 and Avatar - sort of a benchmark test of the Video and Audio quality and it's amazingly high quality. So now I'm looking to start buying some Blu-ray discs. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not entirely sure what movies have and haven't been ported over to BR and I've looked at some essential lists but want to see peoples opinions in this forum. If you're recommending a movie just because it looks good hopefully the audio is good too because I have a great stereo hooked up to the BR player too - so if the audio is lacking it could show.

Right now I'm going to buy Planet Earth (I only saw a couple of episodes and besides the stunning visuals it's one of the best documentaries done by the BBC & Attenborough in my opinion) Possibly The Matrix Trilogy which is exceptionally cheap, and not really sure on other titles which is why I posted here. Heard some Pixar animations are awesome on BR.

    So, any titles you recommend?

Crank looks and sounds stunning on Blu-ray, as does Up. Close Encounters of the Third Kind's HD remaster makes the film look like it was shot in the '90s. Black Hawk Down, Blade Runner, Gone with the Wind look fantastic.

The Dark Knight - as overrated as it is, it's a visually stunning film.
Moon - Great film and looks amazing in HD.
    Saving Private Ryan
    Terminator 2

Most films on Blu-Ray are visually stunning.

A notable exception is the Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring.

Blu-Ray on a HD-ready TV and not 1080p is a bit of a waste though.

    It's 1080p+

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll be checking all of them.

Anything animated should look great on Blu-Ray. It's all vectors.

Along with Planet Earth, I would recommend Life as it too is purely amazing.

I'll be branded a maniac for speakin' the truth and I'll be murdered as soon as I hit the streets with the proof.
