New domain coming in July .co

I've just got an email from Heart Intenet who I have my .com domain with. There is a new domain coming in July which hosting sites are allowing people to pre-order.

I did a little research. The .co domain was introduced in 1991 and is a local Columbian domain, just like .co.uk is for the UK. However the domain is now going public worldwide, with the .co standing for company.

Not really sure if this will pick up as .com which stands for commerical is used mainly with most companies but we can wait and see.
