How did none of the many there not spot the train and tell him? While I think it'd be quite cool to have a video of myself stood a few inchs from a moving train, I wouldn't really like to be seen as a train spotter

Just had another thought. Surprisingly suicide by train is one of the most common methods of suicide, you don't hear about it much but it's not that uncommon. Drivers apparently get compensated £250 for each "kill" as such to help them cope with it, although many get depressed and quit I believe.

I remember hearing on a train once, a few drivers were on a table opposite and one actually said "i'm hoping for a couple of jumpers this month, last month got one and took the wife out for a meal" - Seriously sick stuff.

No he seemed pretty serious. Not really stuff you'd joke about it either.

Transport for London even has a department setup to help depressed drivers from running people over (Although suicide is never advisable on the london underground as most major stations have gaps where you'll fall under the track). Damn I know too much about suicide :L
