Forum Updates ~ 16/05/2010

Hello! It's been a while since the last lot of Forum Updates and this is infact, my first updates as Forum Manager, but then again it's not! This weeks Forum Updates have been hijacked by AlexOC and Saurav. of The Rainbow Party, the party that cruised to victory in the Habbox Forum General Election.

We even have one update that came from the Rainbow Party Manifesto, although this will not be the only change the Rainbow Party bring to the forum with more to come in future weeks.

This weeks updates are:

• Forum Descriptions Re-Written
  
• Changes to the Trading Forums
• Customisable Backgrounds
• Changes to Rule A6

Now, dare I say it.. over to The Rainbow Party to explain these in detail!

Following a suggestion by Storking at the Habbox Forum Help Desk Takeover, it's been decided to shorten all the Forum Descriptions. Unnecessary words and phrases have been taken out and Forum Management have tried to make them as short and friendly as possible.

Following a thread in the Feedback section changes have been made to the 'Trading' section of the Forums to reduce confusion about where to post threads:

'Categorised & Normal Rare Trading' has been changed to 'Normal Rare Trading'
and
'Normal Trading' is now 'Categorised Rare and Normal Trading'

The Rainbow Party recently won the Habbox Forum Election and part of our manifesto was to bring you customisable skins! We have not let you down, you can now customise the background to your skin by either changing the colour or adding an image.

To do this go to Edit Profile on UserCP scroll down to where it looks like this:



Enable 'User Customisation' and set your preferences. Please note you may only use image URLs for background images.

Following a few comments in the "Forum..." thread in Feedback, we have decided to alter Rule A6 slightly.

The rule now reads:

A6. Do not post pointlessly ~ Do not post off-topic: An off-topic post has no relevance to the topic or any previous post that is relevant, or does little to positively contribute to the discussion.
~ Do not spam/make pointless posts. It is not allowed to post random, meaningless, posts or threads on the forum. Examples of this are (ROFLCOPTER!!!!!!); (BYRDSB +HKK; ) (I am a plane).

The new wording clarifies the difference between off-topic and pointless posting and highlights that any post in a thread must be relevant to the topic or another post within that thread. This has also been clarified by moderators.
