Possible your graphics drivers crashed and didn't recover?

Might be worth checking if you have the latest graphics drivers for your card.

This usually happens if you turn it off by the plug or turn it off suddenly without doing it properly.

This may be the problem why, last night I was charging my ipod and left the computer on. I pressed the power button without turning it off properly.
