Default Do you enjoy playing devils advocate?

It basically means debating for the fun of it. For example, you might provide an alternative view in an argument, not because you believe it but just for fun.

I don't do it just for the fun of it, but it's important in any good discussion to have more than 1 side being played out. Quite often in theological debates I put forward ideas I don't necessarily believe in simply so that people know what the facts about it are, because so many people are misguided and misinformed about it all, so I guess that counts.

I do it in re a lot lol. "what is reality?", "what is truth?", "what is humanity?" then provide the alternative philosophical ideas that are against their opinion. Mainly cos half the time, you can catch them out on the simplest of things, which is a shame.

yeah, had a massive 'debate'/argument with someone about whether mens health is a gay magazine or not and i agreed with him (obvs didn't tell him that until after) but thought i'd criticise whatever he said because he was getting pissy and prolong it all.
