Default Banned from flying the English flag

Binmen have been threatened with the sack if they fly England flags on their wagons during the World Cup.
Drivers in Liverpool were ordered to sign contracts forbidding the St George’s Cross due to apparent ‘health and safety’ risks.
You may have seen all that bull before about not being able to wear your shirts in pubs and that was indeed blown up... it was just that the police advised pubs to have dress codes.

Anyway, I think this is stupid... what harm is the flag? It also says taxi drivers & truck drivers aren't allowed to have stickers in their cars/cabs... where I live most of the taxis are driven by Asians and a lot of them have "ALLAH something or other" and religious symbols stuck on the back windows 'obscuring their view', so how come the England flag is not allowed? Maybe we're to scared to tell the Islamic folk to take down their stickers because then we'd be 'racist'... pffft. Double standards?

Just yesterday I had an exam and two people I know were told to take off their hats. A third person, wearing an Islamic hat was allowed to keep his on... now yeah, maybe if he 'has' to then he can, but if you're letting 1 person wear their hat then why not the others?

Sigh... anyway all this banning of flags etc. is causing more problems! There'd be much less trouble if they left them.

Times like these I do not feel proud to be British... I'd rather be Russian or something.

I think if it's your property you should be allowed to display a flag. On my local news this story came up, and I applaud this guy for painting his house.

they probably aren't nazis as nazis were nationalists.

erm seriously idc about this flag thing. i personally think the flags on the cars look seriously tacky and do have an odd negative (overly-nationalist) stigma attached to them. i also think that they might be a bit dangerous if someone was to be hit by a car with them on, but i don't see the problem of putting england flag stickers on cars etc.

in other countries like sweden and france, the french and swedish flags are flown everywhere by people and government institutions and because of this it seems less racist. Because of the lack of usage of the flag in this country it has been hijacked by the far-right and racists.
    goodbye.

I think you know what I mean perfectly well - these people do not like any opinion that differs to their own and thus think it should be banned under the banner of health and safety or political correctness is the guise of 'it is racist to fly your own flag' (generally stemming from this case). The problem is not the government not using it, the problem is this type of case which just turns people to the extremes.

It is as per usual, the majority vs the zealot minority.

Meh, their property they can do what they like. It's kinda obvious that the flag is the English flag, and we happen to be in England, so there should be no harm seeing as all nationals should be aware of this tiny little factoid.

If you want to vandalise your own property with St. George's cross, then so be it. I don't ask Undertaker to stop putting up psoters of Brent Corrigan in his bedroom because it displeases me.

I fail to see how a flag ABOVE your car can obscure your view. If they're talking about the view of others then I fail to see how a flag ABOVE a truck cab can obscure anybody else's view.

There is a house by my old primary school which is always painted during big football events. Last time I saw it was during the 2004 Euros I think, when it was painted like the front of David Beckham's shirt
