Face Recognition

We're at the point where you could snap a person's face with Google Goggles and find out their entire life story: their employment, their friends, what they looked like before they dyed their hair. I don't know where the societal breaking point for pervasive, omnipresent technology is... but I think we're getting close.

Just wondering people's thoughts on face recognition, Google has the technology and data now that you could just take and upload a photo of someone's face and you'd find everything about them, which could be very handy in finding information out about people or tagging photos but Google already has enough of our data and there's obvious privacy concerns.

Thoughts on this technology, do you want it to be released?

I use google Goggles sometimes on my phone to search for items, but using it for people is just crazy!

I'm not really a fan of it being used to find information on "people" but its good for what Myke mentioned, items/products etc.

My dad has this on his phone for when he goes to buy "expensive" things. But I never knew you could do it for people. :|

Oh it can't yet as Google are debating whether to release it, but the technology is there to be implemented whenever they wish.
