Ipod software update

Hi,

I'm currently updating my ipod to software version 4.0 and it's been backing up my ipod for ages. Is this normal?

The back-up takes absolutely ages. Don't reset or anything if you think it locks, apparently it sits still for a while. Give it a few hours, depending on the stuff you've got

mine did it within a few mins (ipod touch third gen) but my friends iphone 3g took aaaaages to backup. its normal.

If you've never backed up your iPod before it will take ages as it will have to back the whole thing up from scratch.

Yea, it's normal. It would take a while, the progress bar just sits there but it is actually doing it.
