and your girlfriend/boyfriend is a strong follower of their religion (like my ex-girlfriend who is a Christian and believes in sex after marriage), would you still date him/her?

My last relationship lasted 11 weeks and ended this week, partially because of two reasons:
- I didn't see her enough
- I wasn't allowed sexual intercourse

So if your partner was like mine, what would you do?

Honestly? I wouldn't go out with them. I have nothing against religion but to me two people in a relationship should share common ground and a religion would purely be a divide. I'd consider going out with someone who was lenient and relaxed about their religion but if they followed it down to the very word like your Ex-Girlfriend seemed to then I'd never date them .

Sounds like a good relationship to me, I get bored if I see them too much and I cba with sex most of the time lol. I'm not religious myself but I find religion fascinating and look into it quite a lot, and can tell you now that sex before marriage is never explicitly referred to in the Bible, unless you take adultery to mean any non-wed sexual coupling, which I don't think most do. There are plenty of passages noting that free fornication is a sin so I can see why the opinion exists within the Christian community, but frankly I doubt most Christians - or people of other faiths for that matter - follow all of their religious laws anyway (or even know most of them). If I had a religious partner, I'd respect that but would have no trouble with letting them know when they're wrong about their own teachings

I think the reason she disaggree's with sex is because she had an abortion or a miscarriage a year ago when she thought her boyfriend was "the one". I was talking to her earlier and she said i'm the love of her life? She said she would have sex with me but she'd have to trust me and know that I will be with her until the end. Also "at the right time". Seriously, the time is never right with her, she's 17 and has strict guidelines to follow by her parents (as you may have seen in my other threat regarding strict parents)

yeah my ex followed everything his mum and dad said and they were catholic. the only time we were allowed to see each other was college or if he was babysitting his brother. not that that stopped anything. she didn't like me though because i wasn't portuguese too. racist

he was taught to only have one sexual partner, it had to be someone he wanted to spend the rest of his life with (well tough **** on that). while i respect that choice i find it stupid. you don't have to go having sex with everyone but you shouldn't restrict yourself. sex means hardly anything nowadays, you CAN do it without getting pregnant or sti's.

although some religious view is fine with me i couldn't be with someone who follows everything down to a tee, they need to be independent and not rely on others >.>

yeah well i am a christian and i would date other christians obviously but i would date people who follow no religion but never people who follow other religions because i just don't think they're right. And sex before marriage shouldn't happen but has/will so wah wah wah.

im pretty educated on religion as i took RE at a level but i think the whole concept of religion is a waste of time.

Saying that it wouldn't really bother me but i can say i'm not to keen on god squad or muslim chicks lol
