I think he may have posted this beacause you havent always been able to eat apple. They were called cooking apples and has no option to eat. However, i think with the introduction of farming, you are now able to eat apples, and onions aswell (you couldnt eat those either).

farming is a new member skill that involves growing stuff. You can grow anything from potatoes to yew trees, and you can use compost and npc farmers to help your crops be moe bountiful. There are alot of new food items and stat enhancing beers aswell.
