Default Council forces schools to rearrange exams to avoid offending Muslims during Ramadan

A council has ordered schools to rearrange tests, cancel swimming lessons and stop sex education to avoid offending Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan.
All primary schools and secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent have been issued with the guidance aimed at Muslim pupils who may still be fasting when the new term starts in September.
But critics dismissed the dictats as ‘over-zealous’ bureaucracy and said all pupils would be forced to miss out on activities as a result.
I asked myself 'why, why?' and it's supposedly because there is a big risk that these students could swallow water if swimming... oh and they are not allowed to think about sex whilst fasting.

If they want to fast, let them, but why stop everybody else's learning and activities for a small few? Can't they just sit it out or something?

What will they do next, forbid every child from eating when they're fasting? Stupid council.

Yes, I agree. Very stupid council. I had 2 Muslim friends in my RE class while they were fasting for Ramadan and we still studied sex... or 'human relationships' to give it its proper name but it was basically sex

The muslim children should have had the option for theirs to be rescheduled, thats fair enough, but everyone else should have just continued as normal.
It just annoys me when people start crying about their religion and forcing stuff on other people.

Don't have them go swimming, it's common sense :S And last I checked the sex education classes weren't in September, they're closer to Winter if I remember that far back, and exams tend to appear in November/December and May/June/July :/

And surely if they do not want to do sex education, they could simply sit it out which you can technically do. You just sit in another room doing other work. Hardly a calamity like they're making it out to be.

If you go to a Great British school in a country called Great Britain then you should expect Great British education. In this country now we have the council town hall Nazis (mostly totally unelected) who come up with the likes of this. My history teacher was telling me the other day she knows somebody who acquired a job in a local government organisation on a pretty good wage as an administrator - they have meetings about what Christmas tree they should have in their offices. The joke is on ourselves though because we are the ones paying for it.

Let us clear the councils and government of these people and let them find real jobs that create wealth and do not sap it.

Not saying that it shouldn't be, I just don't remember hearing of any school having sex education lessons in September, they're usually middle to end of the year

catch 22 situation - they're rearranging the exams so they don't offend musclims but by doing this surley they're offending christains/other religions?
