If I sent someone 5£ & the status of the transaction is 'completed' but I still wanted to cancel the payment, how do I do so or is it once the transfer is completed there's no way of getting it back?

vice-versa, the reason I'm asking is I've been doing allot of transactions lately & so far so good I haven't run into any problems but sometimes you will get the odd ***** who might cancel the fee even though they have received their goods. How can I prevent myself from getting 'scammed'?

Also once I select 'transfer to bank' can the payment still be cancelled?

You would have to open a PayPal dispute which could take a couple of weeks, and usually ends up in the buyer's favour anyway.

Yes it can be, if they open a claim that they never received the goods it will put your PayPal account into debt.
