Hi there,
Calling all DJs and website owners!
What DJ panel do you use, and why - what features are the bits that make you want to use it?
Also, are there any features you wish it had?
Thanks,
Jake.

I don't use it personally, but the popular one these days seems to be radiPanel. It's got different usergroup categories, easily editable, etc. radiPanel is more of a staff panel than just a DJ panel.
Indeed, and anybody who remembers me from about 2 years ago will know that I regularly used to release scripts I wrote for free.
That's what I am planning to do again!
Indeed he does, but at least he's tailoring it to our needs and not just creating it without any primary research
Nice. Make it original, I like to use things that're original than variations of something that gets released every few weeks!
I would recommend creating your permissions using a bitfield system (like vBulletin), I find these more efficient when checking if a permission is true!
I used to use RadiPanel. It's not a bad panelYou have a section for news and also events. You get management sections, you can customize what users see in the bars. It's quite a god panel.

Awesome advice, thanks for that! I just checked into bitfields (I'd heard of them and tried to work them out before but failed) and they are fantastically easy to do! I will be using them for the panel!Indeed he does, but at least he's tailoring it to our needs and not just creating it without any primary research

We use a highly edited version of RadiPanel![]()
I love bitfields. If you need an overview of them let me know, though they are pretty easy. It uses binary to check if the permission is true and uses 2^x to make sure each permission has a unique value.
I prefer this method because the only thing you need to actually store is the permission value (total of all permissions) and all permissions work fine!
If it's just a DJ panel, make sure it only contains DJ stuff ~ staff panels should contain different categories for different staff teams (events, djs, media, etc).
To me I'd love a DJ Panel that is the following
- Easy to customise - e.g. choose layouts, designs etc without having to know how to code, edit etc - Would be handy to have some Non Habbo designs - some DJ Panels are based on Habbo - would be handy for something that would allow non Habbo stations to use them.
- Presenter logs - I'd really like an advanced log system that can log who goes on air - In other words I can see that at 6.30 am the "Breakfast Show" connected and Disconnected at 10am - this would allow me to easily see who is doing their shows and who isn't.
- A decent booking off system - e.g. presenter can't do a show - fills in info - other presenter puts down they can cover for them - I know a lot of habbo based stations have people booking slots each week but most non habbo online radio stations use a fixed schedule with the same people each week - a lot easier to manage and handy for listeners to remember.
- Some come with it - but a kicker to log and kick the source aka if you have an auto system running is handy - it can be done without having to give the password.
