    Default iPhone 4 HELPPPPP

    Hey guys,

I want to get the iPhone 4 from orange. I already have a contract with orange that i'm really happy with, my question is if I buy the iphone 4 on PAYG (from orange) and then cut my sim card smaller to fit it will my current orange contract work with the iphone?

I am going to wait for a bit because apparently theres quite a few problems with the iPhone 4, but I though i'd ask now!

    thanksss

Maybe, i've never heard of anybody "cutting" their simcard though.
Do you physically mean your going to cut it smaller? Surely then it wouldn't work?

Yeah, trimming a SIM card to a micro SIM does work, although it may be against Orange policies.

To be honest you'd probably be better just getting a micro sim, i don't think they cost anything.

And yes the iPhone 4 does have a few problems but they're pretty minor for me, don't make much of a difference. Although the proximity sensor issue while in a call is kind of annoying but apart from that, it's fine. Brilliant, actually.

I sure it probably does work as long as the little chip is intacted. Couldnt you just get a micro sim free anyway?

i totally agree, the 'death grip' is just all hype, i mean who holds their phone that hard, seriously? the proximity sensor on mine is annoying, once my warranty is coming to an end i will definitely go to the Apple Store and exchange it for a new one.

I reckon they would supply you with a micro sim but if not you could always cut it, I've heard of people doing it and it working fine. Give them a phone and see what they say

Look at the Consumer Reports video, you only have to bridge that small gap between the antennas with your finger, lightly, and it'll become unusable.

A microsim will propably cost you £10, I'd just cut it down, yes it does work, most of the SIM card is just plastic anyway.

I swear you've said before, and got proven wrong. On some handsets only holding it like you would usually will make it lose signal. The problems are so wide spread with the new iPhone it makes no sense - some you need to squeeze while others you just hold normally, and some have no problems. It's like buying natural sculptures, everyone is different

Anyway, cutting it would work, there's many videos on YouTube to guide you through the process. If not, get a micro-SIM
