    Default Installation Error

    Okay, so after finally getting my hands on untouched windows 7 ISO, when installing i get the error;

    0x80070241

    Basically, its sayings there is files missing or something - after looking through google, i have tried some of the techniques it mentions to get my installation working, all of which have failed for me.

    Does anybody know how on earth im going to fix this? I'm booting from a virtual drive from alcohol 120% by the way, not an actual disk.
    I don't know if burning it to a disk would make much difference.

    Mega +rep to anybody at all who points in the right directions and helps me sort of this frustrating problem!

    Usually it has to be burned to a disk to work. Also the ISO could be incomplete. how do you know its been untouched, just because they say so. Also your download could be missing a few bits, its happens.

    Check the hash of the iso to the originals.

    Well i downloaded it straight from a site, so i presume its all there?
    I'll try burning it to a disc and see if that makes any difference, from what people have said on the internet though, it doesn't make much of a difference and i've ran windows installations before from alcohol 120%.

    I've installed Windows 7 from a mounted CD ISO inside Windows 7 plenty of times.

    Use this program with the -sha1 switch to generate the hash and check the output against relevant one above.

    Ok, download that link I posted, run it and extract it on your desktop or something. You'll have a file called fciv.

    Open the start menu, type "cmd" and press enter on your keyboard. You should get a black command prompt window.

    Now here's the simplest way I can think of doing this for you:

    Drag and drop the fciv file on to this black window. Press spacebar and type -sha1 press space bar again and then drag and drop the iso file onto the Window. Press enter and it should generate the sha1 for the iso file. Compare it to the sha1 values in my quote above. If it's a complete, untouched iso then it's going to give the same sha1 hash as listed above. It will take a few seconds to calculate it.

    Here' a screenshot of what it should look like just before you press enter to generate the hash:

    It does not let me drag and drop into cmd.
