Things to do in Manchester

Well basically me and my girlfriend are going to Manchester for a day , and i was just wondering what things there were to do around Manchester Piccadilly ?
i'm mainly going manchester 'cause they're the closest stockists of Pandora, so yeah :L

just head to the arndale + printworks, theres everything there. also check out afflecks palace

Lotssssss of shopping and there's also The Big Wheel near the arndale but I think it's expensive.

To be honest Piccadilly Gardens is mainly for shopping, having a meal/drink.

urbis is pointless, its just a garden full of emos

I meant just go in Urbis even though it isn't all that interesting but it's something to do.
