Like / Dislike buttons.

I don't know if this has been sugested before, but these would come in handy. Purley because when scrolling through long conversations i like reading key or intresting points not the whole conversation.

Also sometimes you want to show that you like / agree with someones post without +reping them, yet if you post "quote" agreed it gets market and flagged as spam.

So this way you can show you like / agree with the post without spamming.

And a futher possibility is that at the top / bottom of each page you could have the top 3 liked posts on each thread.

other forums have the 'thank the user for this post' which i think is a good idea & something similar to the postcount but for the number of times thanked

not too keen on the 'dislike' option though

It's not just facebook, youtube and other succsesful forums are using it.

Oh and the dislike button is just a suggestion, the main reasoning behind i was so people don't get pointlessly -reped because someone else doesn't like there post. Which i have been the recipient of several times

Im not sure. If it was showed nicely then yes, but otherwise it'd just look too cramped and just look messy.

This has been brought up before and was generally said no to. In my eyes we should just encourage use of the reputation system more.

I suggested this before but Garion said no.
I thought it would be a good idea but unfortunatly managment have already spoken.

I agre with this but sometimes you don't want to rep somone for saying.

I disagree. This is exactly what the reputation system is for.

If you approve of the post, you give +rep (obviously if you approve, you like it)
If you disapprove of the post, you give -rep (if you don't like it)
