Avatar: The Legend of Korra

Nickelodeon finally announced the new Avatar series.

"Nickelodeon officially announced The Legend of Korra this morning, a sequel to the popular animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. Set for a 2011 debut, Korra will be set after the events of the original series and will focus the new Avatar, a waterbender named Korra. According to the Wall Street Journal:

The Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after the events of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ and follows the adventures of the Avatar after Aang - a passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenaged girl from the Southern Water Tribe named Korra.

Korra’s quest eventually leads her to Republic City - the epicenter of the world of “Avatar.” A metropolis powered by steampunk-type technology, the city is inhabited by people from all nations. Korra finds that Republic City suffers from rampant crime and is also dealing with an anti-bender revolt. Korra is tutored by Aang’s son, Tenzin, in the ways of airbending.

If you haven't noticed I haven't been online for a week. Too busy having a life. Also, it shouldn't be in the other thread because that is for The Last Airbender movie. I should know I made it. We don't have a general Avatar thread. Everyone knows to come to this section for Avatar anyway. The television and film people know diddly squat about the series.

Well im just saying its already been posted, especially since you've said that it isn't an anime ( which is true), so is better suited where that thread is, in the tv + film thread. Whatever chris, was meant to be a joke, no idea why you're so touchy recently.

I made the thread here though because its where all the Avatar fans are. Thats why I made the Last Airbender thread here n'all, which would appear was the right decision. Not like it matters anyway, as long as there is a thread somewhere. I won't close this though, because the thread will probably stay more active in this section. If it does get closed I'll post updates in the Last Airbender thread. I think I can still change the title.

Until then though... all hail The Legend of Korra! I think its sad the original characters won't be in it at all, but heres hoping they bring some of the old voice actors back to give life to the new cast. Aang's voice actor may very well play his son in The Legend of Korra. Well, I hope he does.
