    Default Water damaged iPhone 3GS

I had my iPhone in my gym bag and a bottle of water burst over it. It still turns on but randomly when I hit a button it'll do another thing. The lock button at the top only works sometimes. When I turn it on it apple logos and then black screens, I repeat about 3-4 times then it works. I currently have it sitting in a bowl of rice with cling film to dry it out. I have no warranty, any other ways I could fix this without buying another iphone or paying a hefty fee.

By turning it on, you may have short circuited it - thus damaging it further tbh..

It was most likely on at the time anyway.

Leave it in your airing cupboard or near a radiator for the next few days, I doubt it'll work though. Electronics can survive being washed and all sorts as long as you don't turn them on until they're bone dry.

The water sensors inside the headphone jack and connector are still white indicating no water damage. Just turned it on and it works, lock button is a bit laggy but gonna let it dry

rice definitely works, just keep it in there a while.
my friends ipod touch got dropped down a toilet, dried out in rice and now works fine.

Works perfectly now. Put it in some silicone gel/rice for 2 hours

You should try and get a sticky saying how to cure a water damaged iphone/ipod touch because at least you know it works.
