If this item is something expensive like a bandos chestplate for example the difference between minimum and medium can be millions so that means person A has just made around 1m/2m depending on the difference between minimum and medium.

Simple as that really or Person B can sell an item that is rising to person A for med in trade, then person A sells it for max and makes the difference between medium and maximum.
