Default Has anyone flown with Easy Jet?

Going on holiday in 4 days and my mum has chosen to fly with Easy Jet with it being a short flight (Athens) but I always thought of Easy Jet as being a budget airline.. Is it going to be really cramped and no tv's in the back of the seat in front of you? Then really crappy meals (if any with it being a short flight) and poor service? Not really too happy as flying is one of my favourite parts of going on holiday. :S

I used to talk down on EasyJet (joked about having to pedal to get it off the ground!) but it's not actually that bad.

I doubt they'll have the TVs in the back of the chairs with it being a relatively short flight and the food may not be up to scratch, but I've heard the service is surprisingly good.
Problem with EasyJet, in my opinion, is the mad rush to get some seats when you first board. You're not allocated seats so it's just like a bus trying to get seats. If they started giving people seats at check-in, it would be up there with the moderate airlines

Are you having a laugh? You have to all race in there for the best seats?

I believe it's still like that, yes. Obviously there's enough seats for everyone but if you're one of the last familes to board you might be split up, etc.

@TT, yes I have once, it was a **** experience and will only go Virgin, AA or at a push BA.

I believe there is still the rush, unlike most 'better' airlines where you can either pay or just ask for the upgrade to more legroom (door) if you are a well built male -- to help people out in emergencies.

Oh what rubbish! There's many airlines out there, you just can't travel with 3 for the rest of your life. One bad experience can't put you off a whole spectrum of companies.

Problem with the bulk-head and the emergency exit seats is that you need to be old enough to sit there (I think it's 18+?) - they don't allow children / young teens to sit there as they "can't operate the door properly in an emergency"

Wish I'd of never asked now. We have to set off at 3am so I was hoping to get some sleep on the plain but if it's crap then I won't really feel like sleeping.

Edit: This doesn't look too bad.
